Hello mate ❤
it's so nice to meet uh
here's ua answer :
2.4 km/hr✔

Solution:

Let the speed of the stream be x km/hr
Thus, downward stream =(12+x)
and upward stream =(12−x)
suppose the distance travelled be y,Given:
y
(12+x)
=6 and
y
(12−x)
=9
On solving these two equations we get:
x= 2.4 km/hr

Given :

Rahul can row a certain distance downstream in 6 hour and return the same distance in 9 hour. If the speed of Rahul in still water is 12 km/hr .

To Find :

Speed of Rahul in still water , u = 12 km/hr .

Solution :

Let , speed of stream is v .

We know , distance covered in upstream is given as :

D=(u-v)t\\D=9(12-v)

Distance covered in upstream is given as :

D=(v+u)t\\D=6(v+12)

Now , these distance are equal .

So ,

9(12-v)=6(v+12)\\\\v=2.4\ m/s

Therefore , the speed of stream is 2.4 m/s .
