The pattern in arrangement of veins in the blade of a leaf is called as venation. Dicotyledenous plants are the plants which exhibit tap root system. These plants with taproot system have reticulate venation.
Reticulate venation involves net-like pattern of arrangement of veins. Most of the angiosperms with two cotyledons in the seed exhibit reticulate venation. e.g. Rose, Maple, Tulsi, Hibiscus, Redgram etc.

Answer: Rahul can find out the venation in the leaves even without actually looking at the leaves. He can observe the type of roots in the plant. A plant with Fibrous roots will always have parallel venation. Whereas, Plants with tap root system will have reticulate venation.
