Cost of 3 chocolates(including the wrapper) = Re.1

Hence, In 45 rupees, no of chocolates =45*3= 135 chocolates.

Now you also have 135 wrappers, so if you eat all the chocolates and return all the wrappers , you would get 135/3=45 chocolates(including the wrapper) more because for returning every 3 wrappers you get one chocolate.

Similarly , now you have 45 wrappers now , by returning them you would get 45/3 =15 chocolates( including the wrapper) more.

Again by following the same process you would get 15/3=5 Chocolates more.

As 5 is not divisible by 3, hence you would get 1 chocolate more for returning 3 wrappers.

Now you have 2 wrappers left with you and you have an additional chocolate that you got in the end . So you have 3 wrappers now.By returning them you would get one more chocolate.

Hence the total no of chocolates that you will get would be 135+45+15+5+1+1= 202 chocolates.

Hence for "n rupees" you would get

3n no of chocolates. Now keep dividing it by 3.The quotient you get would be the no of chocolates.Divide the quotient again till you get a no less than 3.

Suppose in some intermediate step the remainder is not zero. Then add the remainder to the quotient which would become the next dividend .Further continue the process of dividing. When you reach a point that the addition of the remainder and quotient becomes less than 3, you need to stop. To get the final no of chocolates add the quotient at each intermediate step.
