Rahul is standing in the balcony of house. His house is at the 7th floor and the height of each floor is 2.8m. Rahul is watching his father
going to office from this balcony. The position
makes an angle of depression of 45 degrees with Rahul's eyes when father is at a distance of 10m from the building. After 10 seconds the angle of depression becomes 30 degrees Calculate the speed of Rahul's father. The height of Rahul’s father and Rahul is 1.6m and 0.4m respectively.

Speed =  0.732 m/s

Step-by-step explanation:

Let say height  = h

Tan 45°  = h/10

=> 1 = h/10

=> h = 10

Height = 10 m

d = distance covered by rahul father

Tan 30 °  = h/(10 + d)

=> 1/√3 = 10/(10 + d)

=> 10 + d = 10√3

=> d = 10(√3 - 1)  m

d = 7.32 m

Time = 10 sec

Speed = 7.32/10  = 0.732 m/s

Speed of rahul father =  0.732 m/s
