Rahul learnt about the nervous tissue in school today. His teacher told him that messages travel in the form of electrical impulses. Now he has a big doubt in his mind. If there are electrical impulses in our body, how come we don't keep getting electrical shocks? He tried his best to feel any sort of shock in his body, but he couldn't! He is amazed and puzzled and wants to know the answer as soon as possible. Please help Rahul solve his doubt.

Answer:

When a messge comes into the brain from anywhere in the body, the brain tells the body how to react. For example, if you touch a hot stove, the nerves in your skin shoot a mesage of pain to your brain. The brain then sends a messge back telling the muscles in your hand to pull away. Luckily, this neurolgical relay race happns in an intant.
