Given:

Length of the society park = 100m

Width of the society park = 15m

Rahul took 8 round of the society park

To Find:

Distance covered by him

Solution:

Distance covered by him = 8 × Perimeter of the society park

= 8 × 2(L + B)

= 8 × 2(100 + 15)

= 16 × (115)

= 1,840m

Hence, 1840m is the required answer.

Answer :-

Distance covered by Rahul in total = 1840 m

Concept :-

Here the concept of Perimeter of Rectangle has been used. According to this,

Perimeter of Rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth)

It should be noted that both Length and Breadth should be in same units.

Question :-

Rahul like to run along the boundary of a society Park his Park is 100 m long and 15 m wide. In one day if he took 8 round of the park then how much distance did he cover in all ?

___________________________

Solution :-

Given,

» Length of the Park, L = 100 m

» Breadth of the Park, B = 15 m

» Total number of rounds covered by Rahul = 8

Then, distance covered by Rahul, will be given as,

➠ Distance covered = 8 × Perimeter

➠ Distance covered = 8 × 2(L + B)

By applying the values, we get,

➠ Distance covered = 8 × 2(100 + 15)

➠ Distance covered = 8 × 2(115)

➠ Distance covered = 8 × 230

➠ Distance covered = 1840

Hence total distance covered by Rahul

= 1840 m
