Rahul owns a rectangular field of length 400 m and breadth 200 m. His friend Ramu owns a square field of length 300 m. Find the cost of fencing the two fields at Rs.150 per meter. If one tree can be planted in an area of 10 sq m. who can plant more trees in his field? How many more trees can he plant?

Hey there!
Rahul owns a rectangular field ,
Length of the field = 400 m
Breadth of the field = 200m .
Now, Area of the field = Length * Breadth = 400 * 200 m² = 80,000m²
Perimeter =2 ( 200 + 400 ) = 1200m .

Ramu owns a square field.
Side of the field = 300m
Area of the square field = Side * side = 300 * 300 = 90,000m²
Perimeter = 4 * 300 =1200 m

Now,
Cost of fencing per one meter = Rs. 150 .
Cost of fencing the Rahul field = 1200 * 150 = 1,80,000 Rs.
Cost of fencing the Ramu field = 1200 * 150 = 1,80,000 Rs.
Now,
One tree can be planted in a area of 10 sq m
Number of trees Rahul can plant = 80,000 ÷ 10 = 8,000 trees.
Number of trees Ramu can plant = 90,000 ÷ 10 = 9,000 trees .
Therefore, Ramu can plant more trees than Rahul . and cost of fencing is same for both fields.

Dear Student,
Answer:
➖➖➖
cost for fencing of both fields = 180,000 Rs.
Ramu can plant 1000 more trees as compared to Rahul.
Solution:
➖➖➖
Perimeter of Rahul's field:2(length + breadth)
length = 400 m
breadth = 200 m
Perimeter = 2(400+200) = 2(600) = 1200 m
Cost for fencing per meter = 150 Rs
Cost for fencing 1200 meter = 150 X 1200 Rs
= 180,000 Rs
Perimeter of Ramu's field:4(length)
length = 300 m
Perimeter = 4(300) = 1200 m
Cost for fencing per meter = 150 Rs
Cost for fencing 1200 meter = 150 X 1200 Rs
= 180,000 Rs
Area of Rahul's field = length x breadth
= 400 x 200 sq-m
= 80000 sq-m
Number of tree planted = 80000/10
= 8000 Trees
Area of Ramu's field = side x side
= 300 x 300 sq-m
= 90000 sq-m
Number of tree planted = 90000/10
= 9000 Trees
Conclusion: Cost for fencing is same for both field.
Number of trees are planted more in Ramu's field.
Hope it helps you.
