Percentage can be calculated by this method

For example 25% discount for 100 rs thing can be calculated as

25%*100 = 0.25*100 = 25.

Then subtract that value with 100

100 - 25 = 75
In the above we know the value of thing before discount.


Now,

Here we don't know the value before discounted then let us make it as x.

Now
25%*x = 200 - x

0.25*x = 200 + x

200 + x - 0.25x = 0

200 + 0.75x = 0

x = - 200/0.75

x = - 66.66

200 - x = 200 - (-66.66)

=266.66 Rs. Is the rate of sweater before discounted.
