Rahul's father is 26 years younger than Rahul's grandfather and 29 years older than Rahul the sum of the ages of all the three is 135 years what is the age of each one of then

Let Rahul's age be x

According to the question,

Rahul's father's age = x+29

And

Rahul's grandfather's = x+29+26
=> Rahul's grandfather's age = x+55

Sum of their ages = 135

Therefore, x + x+29 + x+55 = 135
=>3x + 84 = 135
=> 3x = 51
=> x=17

Therefore,
Rahul's age = 17 years
Rahul's father's age = 46 years
Rahul's grandfather's age = 72 years

Solution -

Let Rahul's Father's age be x years

Rahul's Grand Father's age be x + 26 years

Rahul's age be x - 29 years

According to Question,

Given : Sum of the ages = 135 years

x + (x + 26) + (x - 29) = 135

⇒ 3x - 3 = 135        [By transposition]

⇒ 3x = 135 + 3

⇒ 3x = 138             [By transposition]

⇒ x = 138 / 3

⇒ x = 46

Required Ages -

Rahul's age = x - 29 = 46 - 29 = 17years

Rahul's Father's age = x = 46 years

Rahul's Grand Father's age = x + 26

= 46 + 26 = 72 years

Hence, the age of Rahul, his father and his grand father's ages are 17 years, 46 years and 72 years respectively
