Hence, 3 times of his age is 3x and 3 years more is 3x +3, which is his father age, i.e., 42 years.

Hence, 3x + 3 = 42

=> 3x = 42 -3

=> 3x = 39

=> x = 39/3

=> x = 13

So Rahula's age is 13 years.
