Here's ur answer :)

Let Rahul's present age be x.

And his father's age be y.

ATQ y=3x ___(1)

Also, (y + 12) = 2(x +12)

That is y+12 = 2x + 24
y-2x = 12 ____(2)

By substitution method...

3x - 2x= 12

:x = 12


And y = 3x..Therefore y = 36.


Hence father's present age is 36 years and son's present age is 12 years.
