Let's first find money he spent on snacks :-
He spent ¼th of 500 on snacks.
➩ ¼ × 500 = 125
He spent Rs. 125 on snacks.
Now, it is given that he spent ¼ of remaining.
➩ Remaming amount = 500 - 125
= 375
➩ ¼ of 375 = 93.75
Amount he spent on purchasing books is Rs. 93.75
Total money he spent till now = 93.75 + 125 = 218.75
Total money he spent = Rs. 218.75
Money left with him = 500 - 218.75
= 281.25
Money left with him = Rs. 281.25
