gain on first helmet=49.28

so 1232+49.28=1281.28

loss on second helmet=49.28

do, 1232-49.28=1182.72

total cost=1281.28+1182.72=2464

cost of two helmet=1232×2=2464

so, 2464-2464=0

so no profit or no loss ans

Answer:

Total loss in the whole transaction is Rs.36.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Rahul sells two helmets at the rate of rs 1232 each. He gains 12% on one and loses 12% on the other.

To find : What will be the total loss (in Rs) in the whole transaction?

Solution :

The selling price of the helmets is Rs.1232.

Profit% is 12%.

CP=\frac{100}{100+P\%} \times SP

CP=\frac{100}{100+12} \times 1232

CP=\frac{100}{112} \times 1232

CP=1100

The cost price of the helmet is rs.1100.

Loss%=12%

CP=\frac{100}{100-L\%} \times SP

CP=\frac{100}{100-12} \times 1232

CP=\frac{100}{88} \times 1232

CP=1400

Therefore, He sold 2 helmets for Rs.1232 which cost Rs.1100 and rs.1400.

Total Cost Price = Rs. 1100 + Rs. 1400 = Rs. 2500

Total Selling Price = Rs. 1232+Rs.1232 = Rs. 2464

Total Loss = Rs. 2464 – Rs. 2500 = Rs. 36.

So, Total loss in the whole transaction is Rs.36.
