Given:-

\sf{Distance\:towards\:North\:=12\:km}

\sf{Then,\:Distance\:towards\:west\:=35\:km}

To Find :-

\sf{Diagonally\:Distance\:from\:friends\:house\: to}\\{\sf{his\:house}}

Solution :-

\bf{Let\:the \:diagonally \:distance \:from }\\{\bf{friends\: house = x\:km}}

{x\:=\: \sqrt{ \ (35)^{2}+ \ (12)^{2}}}

{x\:=\: \sqrt{1225+144}}

{x\:=\: \sqrt{1369}}

{x\:=\: 37\:km}
