Rahul went to a shop and bought things worth rs. 25, out of which 30 paise went on sales tax on taxable purchases.if the tax rate was 6%, then what was the cost of the tax free items?

Cost price= 25Rs.
Tax=6%.
Tax= 0.3Rs.
Let the taxable purchase be of x Rs.
=>x *6/100=0.3
=>6x=0.3×100
=>x= 30/6.
=>x= 5 Rs.
So, the taxable purchase was of 5 Rs.
Hence the cost of tax free items=25-5.3
=19.7Rs
