The English did not see India as anything but an economic opportunity, thus, everything they did were centred upon this. However, to carry this feeling ahead and to not use railways today would be stupidity. On the same hand, there is no need to feel indebted or gratitude to the English for bringing about 'modernization' to our country because all they did were for their own selfish motives.

2. The main purpose was to shift the mineral resources to the nearby seaports, they built the Railways.

3. If we observe major railway lines laid by the colonial rulers they laid rail routes directly to the seaport areas only.
