In the poem the poet has portrayed the rain as possessing multidimensional personality. In the first and second stanza it has been portrayed as decorator and pearls respectively. In the fourth stanza it plays the role of a messenger between the lover earth and clouds. In the fourth stanza the rain is like a queen whose arrival and departure by thunder; it also plays the role of earthly life. The rain plays the role of generous life-giver. It descends and gives life to the fields, plants, flowers, and trees. At the end of the poem, the rain is sigh of affection, laughter of spirit, and tears of memories.
