Through the esteemed columns of your newspaper, I would like to draw the attentions of relevant authorities towards the bad and poor condition of cleanliness and drain system of our town.
The streets are not swept regularly. The municipal cleaning staff has been disappeared since last two months. The piles of garbage can be seen everywhere in our society. Bad smell is arising from these refuses which cannot be bored by residents.
These refuses have blocked the drain system very badly. The drain water is over flowing from gutters. This water has turned into big pounds .This is not only affecting badly the condition of roads but also creating problems for users. Specially the pedestrians cannot cross the road and face a lot troubles while crossing the roads.
This bad system is generating many fatal diseases. Flies are found immensely and it is helping to the growth of mosquitoes. Malaria has just broken out and many persons have become victims of malaria fever. This worse atmosphere may give birth to many dangerous diseases like dengue and cholera.If this condition will remain continue for few weeks, we can lose many precious bodies due to careless behavior of relevant authorities
I, hereby, request that this matter should be taken in hand seriously by relevant municipal authority . Some immediate steps must be taken to stop this grim issue so that people can live comfortably. I am looking forward your prompt and positive response regarding this matter.

Dear Editor,
I ________(name), the secretary of ______(colony) resident’s association want to highlight the unpreparedness of cities in facing torrential rains and the poor conditions of cleanliness and hygiene through your highly respected newspaper “National Daily”.
The hygiene in our locality, where over 150 people reside, has been compromised. Large piles of garbage have been piled up in the empty grounds, open areas and even in playgrounds! The scenes of these garbage piles are horrifying and disgusting. Due to heavy rains these piles of garbage have flown out on the roads and have turned the main roads stinky from which the residents are unhappy.
Secondly, the drainages have been blocked and the authorities have been denying clearing them since months. Due to heavy rains the drainages have been filled up and the gutter has out flown on the streets. The smell of the gutter combined with the piles of garbage is suffocating the residents in our area. Tenants have moved away from their rooms and apartments due to this sickening environment.
Thirdly, due to this unhygienic condition there is an outbreak of mosquitoes breeding in large numbers. This has led to the widespread of diseases like malaria, dengue and cholera. There are a large number of fatalities due to this saddening situation. The torrential rains have also disrupted the electrical lines which have not been fixed completely until now.
I would suggest the government in having a check upon their authorities in their work. I would also suggest the government in creating proper drainage systems, and not allowing owners to construct building just beside large drainages. Even the people should have the consciousness of not littering the environment. Less garbage and plastics result in lesser probability in the clogging of drainages during heavy rains.
I hereby request you to highlight this grim situation of our locality in your newspaper and arouse the authorities to take immediate action of this issue.
