Hey MATE!

Rain water is ionised by the free electrons and protons present inside it which makes it possible to flow charge through it. Basically due to thundering salts inside water break into cations and anions which help charge to transfer.

Distilled water doesn't have the required salts which makes it impossible for it to carry charge through it.

Hope it helps

It is because rain water contains dissolved salts in it where as distilled water doesn’t contain any salts
