rainwater harvesting is a method by which water of rain is collected and later used. in the current world context it is of utmost importance. increasing population, depleting natural resources has lead to water and energy crisis. not only water on land, but also ground water is getting used up at a quick pace. rising water needs, lack of rain, global warming etc have lead to a situation of droughts, drying up of lakes, rivers etc and decreasing water table. harvesting fresh rain water can help solve these problems to some extent. there is a lot of runaway water during rains. if it collected it can be put back in ground to replenish the decreasing water table. also the collected water can be used for domestic activities like washing vehicles, gardening, cleaning as well as industrial purposes. thus helping in decreasing pressure over fresh water resources.
