Rainfall in India is orographic in nature as most rainfall gets affected by relief features especially The Himalayas ranges. Like Mumbai is situated besides a mountain range and Pune is situated opposite side to it ,when monsoon winds blow their more than half part is trapped and Mumbai experiences nice rainfall and Pune remain dry. this is one of examples
