Raisins are dipped in water. Then takem out of water and again immersed into concentrated sugar solution. What will happen to the raisin when first dipped in (a) water and (b) concentrated sugar solution

Answer: in water they swell in conc solution they shrink

When raisin are dipped in water for a long time the swell up due to entry of water through endosmosis if the same raisin are kept in conc solution they lose water through exosmosis
