Given :-

Apple ate by Raj :- \tt\dfrac{3}{2}

Apple ate by Vicky :- \tt\dfrac{3}{4}

To Find :-

Total amount of apple ate together............

Solution :-

\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{3}{2}  +  \dfrac{3}{4}

Convert them into like fractions by taking the LCM of the denominators i.e, 2 and 4.

LCM of 2 and 4 is 4.

\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{3 \times 2}{2 \times 2}  +  \dfrac{3}{4}

\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{6}{4}  +  \dfrac{3}{4}  =  \dfrac{6 + 3}{4}

\tt \longrightarrow \dfrac{9}{4}  = 2 \dfrac{1}{4}

\Huge\thereforeThe total part of apple ate together by Raj and Vicky is \tt 2 \dfrac{1}{4}

  • While adding or subtracting the fractions, if they are unlike fractions we should convert them to like fractions by taking the LCM of the denominators. Then we can add the fractions easily.
  • If the fractions are already like fractions, we can add them directly by adding the numerators and leaving the denominator as it is.
