Hey Dear,

◆ Answer -

3.125 % gain

● Explaination -

Let x be some common multiplier. Then 1st investment is 3x and 2nd investment is 5x.

Raj's earning on 1st investment,

Earning = 3x × 25/100

Earning = 0.75x

Raj's loss on 2nd investment,

Loss = 5x × 10/100

Loss = 0.5x

Total gain/loss is calculated by -

Total gain/loss = (0.75x - 0.5x) / (3x + 5x)

Total gain/loss = 0.25x / 8x

Total gain/loss = 0.25x / 8x

Total gain/loss = 0.03125

Total gain/loss = 3.125 % gain

Therefore, Raj gained 3.125 % on total investment..

Thanks dear..
