Answer:-

Given:

Total amount with Raj = Rs. 800

Total number of notes = 50

Let the number of Rs. 10 notes be x and number of Rs. 20 notes be y.

Hence,

x + y = 50 -- equation (1)

Also,

→ 10x + 20y = 800

→ 10(x + 2y) = 800

→ x + 2y = 800/10

x + 2y = 80 -- equation (2)

Subtract equation (1) from (2).

→ x + 2y - (x + y) = 80 - 50

→ x + 2y - x - y = 30

→ y = 30

Substitute y value in equation (1).

→ x + 30 = 50

→ x = 50 - 30

→ x = 20

Therefore,

  • Number of Rs. 10 notes = x = 20

  • Number of Rs. 20 notes = y = 30.

Answer:

Given

\leadsto Raj has a sum of Rs 800 in the form of denominations of Rs 10 and Rs 20. If the total number of notes is Rs 50.

To Find

\leadsto What is the number of notes of each type.

Solution

Let the number of notes of Rs 10 be x

Then, the number of notes of Rs 20 will be 50 - x

According to the question,

\implies 10x + 20(50 - x) = 800

\implies 10x + 1000 - 20x = 800

\implies 10x - 20x = 800 - 1000

\implies - 10x = - 200

\implies x = \dfrac{200}{10}

\implies x = 20

\therefore The number of notes of denominations of Rs 10 = 20

And, The number of notes of denominations of Rs 20 = 50 - 20 = 30
