Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Rahul age be  x

Raju's age be y

Given y=x−5

four years later Rahul will be twice as old as Raju

x+4=2(y+4)

x+4=2(x−5)+8

x+4=2x−10+8

x=6

∴Rahul's age =6 years

Raju's age =(x−5)=6−5=1 year'

Given :

  • Raj is 5 years younger than Ravi.
  • 4 years later, Ravi will be twice as old as Raj.

To Find :

  • Present Age of Ravi and Raj .

Solution :

\longmapsto\tt{Let\:Present\:Age\:of\:Ravi\:be=x}

As Given that Raj is 5 years younger than Ravi . So ,

\longmapsto\tt{Present\:Age\:of\:Raj=x-5}

After 4 years :

\longmapsto\tt{Age\:of\:Ravi=x+4}

\longmapsto\tt{Age\:of\:Raj=x-5+4=x-1}

A.T.Q :

\longmapsto\tt{2(x-1)=x+4}

\longmapsto\tt{2x-2=x+4}

\longmapsto\tt{2x-x=4+2}

\blue\longmapsto\:\large\underline{\boxed{\bf\pink{x}\red{=}\green{6}}}

Value of x is 6 .

Therefore :

\longmapsto\tt{Present\:Age\:of\:Ravi=x}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{6\:yrs}

\longmapsto\tt{Present\:Age\:of\:Raj=6-5}

\longmapsto\tt\bf{1\:yr.}
