Answer:

Dhiraj's age = x-3 years

Raj's age = 4x-3 years.

That time, Raj's age = 5 times Dhiraj's age

∴ 4x-3 = 5(x-3)

4x-3 = 5x-15

∴ x = 12 years

Let us consider Dhiraj's present age as x years

Raj's present age is 4 times Dhiraj's = 4x years

Dhiraj's age=12 years

Raj's age=12x4=48years

Answer:

  • The age of Dhiraj is 12 years.
  • The age of Raj is 48 years.

Given :-

  • Raj's age is 4 times that of Dhiraj.
  • 3 years back, Raj was 5 times as old as Dhiraj.

To Find :-

  • Present age

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the age of Dhiraj be x years old.

Therefore, the age of Raj would be 4x years old. (according to given question)

3 years back, the age of Dhiraj would be ( x - 3 ) years old.

And the age of Raj would be ( 4x - 3 ) years old.

According to the given question,

Raj was 5 times as old as Dhiraj 3 years ago.

So the equation would be,

 \sf \: (4x - 3) = 5(x - 3)

 \sf \implies \: 4x - 3 = 5x - 15

 \sf \implies \: 5x - 4x = 15 - 3

 \sf  \implies {\boxed{ \red{ \sf x = 12}}}

 \sf \: Therefore, the \: age \: of \: Dhiraj \: is \: 12 \: years. \:

 \sf \: And \: the \: age \: of \: Raj \: is \: 4x \: = 48 \: years.
