Given :

Raj went from city A  to city B and from there to city C. Rani went from city D to city A and from there to city B . Distance between B to C is 3.5 km. similarly distance from city D to A is 5.5 km

To Find :

who travelled more and by how much

Solution :

Find attachment for more clarity .

Let length of AC i.e., A to B & B to C is " x "

⇒ Length of AB = AC - BC

Length of AB = x - 3.5

________________________________

Distance travelled by Raj = AB + BC

⇒ x - 3.5 + 3.5

x

So , Distance travelled by Raj is " x " km

Distance travelled by Rani = DA + AB

⇒ 5.5 + x - 3.5

x + 2

So , Distance travelled by Rani is " x + 2 " km

Now observe both distances .

So , Rani travelled more distance than Raj by 2 km .
