Raja ram mohan roy was the pioneer of the reform movement.He was born in a well Brahmin family of bengal.He learnt Arabic,Sanskrit,and Persian.Later he learnt English,French,Latin,GreekandHebrew languages.he wrote a number of books in bengali,hindi,sanskrit,persia and english.he wrote a book called "percepts of Jesus christ".he joined the east Indian company in 1805and served till 1814.he was called as the"Herald of New Age"in India.he died in Bristol in 1833
