Given data :-

  • The shopkeeper charged him only ₹ 37,800 .
  • Raja get a discount of 10% .

Solution:-

{ Selling price = S.P; Cost price = C.P}

Here we need to find actual cost price of smart phone .

—› C.P = ?

—› S.P = ₹ 37,800

Let, according to given C.P% be 100%

Hence, we assume that

—› S.P% = C.P% - Discount%

—› S.P% = 100% - 10%

—› S.P%= 90%

Now, { we use percentage method }

—› {S.P/C.P}×100 = S.P%

—› {37800/C.P}×100 = 90

—› 37800/C.P = 90/100

—› 37800/C.P = 0.9

—› 1/C.P = 0.9/37800 i.e.

—› C.P = 37800/0.9

—› C.P = 42000

Hence, actual cost price of the smart phone is ₹ 42000.
