Let Sarita's monthly income be Rs. x

Let Rajan's monthly income be Rs. (20% of x+ x)

Rajan's monthly income= (20x/100)+ x = (x/5)+x= 6x/5

Difference between their incomes= (6x/5)-x = x/5

%age by which Sarita's income is less than that of Rajan= (Difference between their incomes/ Income of Rajan) × 100 =(x/5÷6x/5)× 100 = 16.667%
