Answers
Answer:
Rajat is suffering from anemia, also called anaemia, which is a deficiency disease caused due to lack of adequate iron present in the blood. A deficiency disease is a non-contagious disease caused by the lack of a certain nutrient which is essential for the body. For example, night blindness is a deficiency disease caused due to inadequate presence of Vitamin A in the body, which rickets is caused due to the lack of enough Vitamin D. People generally suffer from these diseases due to malnutrition or poor diet. This also includes eating a lot of junk food.
There are several ways to treat these diseases. One is to take supplements in the form of tablets or injections to increase the quantity of that particular nutrient in the body. However, the use of these supplements have to be regulated as a very high dosage may lead to poisoning. Another way to treat deficiency diseases is by blood transfusions. This means that healthy blood from a donor is given to the body of the ill person so that the deficient nutrient will be available for the body to use, hence curing the disease. However, there are complications when it comes to blood type, testing for blood-transmitted pathogens/microbes such as HIV/AIDS, HPV, etc. Finally, the slowest but safest and most natural way to treat a deficiency disease is to increase the intake if that particular nutrient in one's diet.

- Iron is an essential nutrient for growth and efficient bodily functions. The lack of iron in the body is called as anaemia or iron-deficiency anaemia. The body needs it to make a protein called haemoglobin. Low haemoglobin levels hamper the red blood cells from carrying oxygen to the body organs.
