Solution :-

Rajeev(A) ------------------------------ Rohit(B)

Let us assume that,

  • Total distance from A to B = D km .
  • Speed of Rohit = x km/h .

so,

→ Time taken by rohit to cover (1/6) th distance = Distance / speed = (D/6x) hours .

also,

→ Speed of rajiv = 2 * x = 2x km/h .

so,

→ Time taken by rajiv to cover (1/6)th distance = (D/12x) hours .

A/q,

→ (D/6x) - (D/12x) = 1

→ (2D - D)/12x = 1

→ D = 12x .

therefore,

→ Time taken by rohit to reach A = Distance / speed = D/x = 12x/x = 12 hours (C) (Ans.)
