Rajeev was a student of class IX. He belonged to a very poor family yet he was not interested in studies. One day his class teacher, Mr Mishra asked him to meet him after class in the playground behind the school. Although Rajeev was reluctant, in the end he did go to visit his teacher.
He found Mr Mishra on one of the swings having an ice cream. Mr Mishra was not your usual teacher. He was known for his friendly nature with the students and faculties alike and his laid back interesting ways of teaching. When he saw Rajeeve approaching he held out another ice cream for him and indicating him to take a seat on the swing next to him. For the initial 10 minutes there was complete silence. The Mr Mishra was the one to break the streak. He started recalling about his past. He used to be very similar to Rajeev. He though being poor education was a wastage of time for him since ultimately he would have to work for money. But his parents were against it. His mother forced him to study, told him that he only had to study and not consider anything other than that. To his surprise, when he finally let go of other thoughts and studied well, his life started to go uproad.
He got consecutive scholarships with distinguished results which finally lead him to his current profession. He took up the role of a teacher because he wanted to guide students who had strayed away from their correct direction in life, like himself and Rajeev. Although ultimately it was a choice Rajeev will have to make, but still he wanted to convince him by leetting him know he is not alone.
After hearing Mr Mishra, Rajeev realised his mistakes and started to study hard for himself and his family. He had decided to give a better future to his family on the basis of his own calibre and strength.
