Given,

  • Rajesh invests X amount for 6 months.
  • His father invests 2X amount for 4 months.
  • Total profit is Rs.21000

To find,

Profit share of Rajesh and his father.

Solution,

Profit will be directly proportional to the amount deposited and the time for which amount is deposited.

Profit  = amount invested*time for which it was invested.

Profit for Rajesh = 6kX ( where  is constant of proportionality )

Profit for his father = 8kX

Now,

Profit earned by Rajesh = \frac{6kX}{8kX}*21000 = Rs.9000

Profit earned by his father = Rs.21000 - Rs.9000 = Rs.12000

Therefore, Rajesh's share in profit is Rs.9000 and his father's share is Rs.12000
