Raji got 32%of marks in the examination and failed by 14 marks .Another student preetha got 45%marks and get 12 more than the passing marks. Find the passing percentage in the examination

Let the total marks be x.

Passing marks for Raji=32/100 x + 14

Passing marks for Preeta=45/100 x - 12

therefore,32/100x + 14=45/100x - 12

14+12=45/100x-32/100x

26=13/100x

x=26*100 / 13=200

so total marks=200

passing marks= 32/100 * 200 + 14=78

pass percentage=78/200 * 100=39 %
