c. p. of 20 glasses = 20*60 =1200
S. p. of 7 glasses = 7*65= 455
5 glasses broke so, = 60*-5= -300
remaining glasses = 20- (7+5) = 20 - 12 =8
so, S. p. of 8 glasses = 8*70= 560
so, total S p. = 455 +560 - 300 =715
loss = c. p. - S p.
= 1200-715= 485
loss percent = loss /c. p. *100
= 485 / 1200 *100
=40.41
40.41 percent loss

20 glasses for rupees 60 each
1 glass 60, 20 glasses= 20x60
cost price of 20 glasses =1200
7 glasses were sold at rupees 65 each
1 glass 65, 7 glasses =7x65
selling price of 7 glasses =455
5 glasses broke. it means there is no selling price(0 rupees) for it.
rest(8 glasses) glasses for rupees 70 each
(7 glasses+5 glasses=12 glasses)(20 glasses - 12 glasses=8 glasses)
1 glass 70 ,8 glasses =70x8
selling price of rest 8 glasses = 560
total cp =1200
total sp =455+0+560=1015
therefore there is a loss as selling price is less than cost price.
cp-sp=l
1200-1015=185
there is a loss of 185 rupees.
l%=l/cp x 100
l%=185/1200 x 100
zeroes get cancelled.
l%=185/12
l%=15.4(divide by 12)
there is 15.4 % loss
