Answer:

Let speed at walking be X km/h

speed while cycling be y km/h

2x +y =24

x+2y= 39

solving, we get

x = 3 km/h

y = 18 km/h

Now , 1.5x+1.5y= 4.5+ 27 ie. 31.5 km Ans

the speed ratio = 2x+x=24

3x=24

x=24/3

x=8 km

so , he walked 16 kms and cycled 8 kms

in the second part,

the speed ratio = 2x+x=39

3x=39

x=39/3

x=13 kms

he walked 13 kms and cycled 26 kms
