Rajneesh purchased 40 dozen oranges at ₹ 8 a dozen. He was able to sell half of these at ₹ 1 per orange. By now 20 oranges had rotten. He sells the remaining orange at the rate of 75 paise each. Find his loss or gain.

given

half of the oranges was sold for rs1 = 480÷2×1

RS 240

oranges remaining= 220

twenty oranges had rotten= 220-20

= 200

remaing were sold at RS 0.75= 200*0.75

= RS 150

add the gain = 240+150

390

loss or gain

= 390 - 320

= 60

hence his gain is RS 60
