Cost of 18 pencils= Rs. 12

Cost of 1 pencil= Rs. (18÷12)= Rs. 1.5

Cost of 15 pencil = Rs. ( 15×1.5)= Rs. 22.5

Cost of 3 pencils that the shopkeeper gave him as a gift= Rs.( 3×1.5)= Rs. 4.5

therefore, PROFIT % = ( 4.5÷22.5)×100=

Rs. 20
