Given :

Time to finish a work by Raju =  \frac{5}{6} hours

Time to finish the work by Vrinda = \frac{3}{4} hours

To Find :

which fraction of time is longer and by how much?

Solution :

To find the bigger fraction we will equate the denominators of the fractions first.

\frac{5}{6}=\frac{5\times 4}{6\times 4}

  = \frac{20}{24}

Similarly,

\frac{3}{4}=\frac{3\times 6}{4\times 6}

   = \frac{18}{24}

Now by comparing numerators of both the new fractions we find that \frac{5}{6}  is bigger.

Therefore, time taken by Raju is longer.

Difference in time to finish the work =  \frac{5}{6}-\frac{3}{4}

                                                            = \frac{10-9}{12}

                                                            = \frac{1}{12}

Raju takes \frac{1}{12} hours more than Vrinda.
