Here we get to know that Raju had been playing in the dust. This in itself suggests us that he might have confronted a number of unknown particulates of matter, that have been the sole reason in causing irritation in his eyes.

These are referred to as "Irritants".

This might have been the reason for a sudden redness in his eye. It is also because of this dust, a part of which might have just entered through his nose causing inability or difficulty in breathing properly.

So this is a temporary issue and Raju can recover from this very soon. Dust particles cause irritation, allergy and a number of sudden effects that can disturb an individual.
