raju moves 40 km north, then he turns right and moves 50 km. again he turns right and moves 30 km. finally, he turns right and reaches 50 km. how far is he from the starting point ?

Raju is 10 km away  from the starting point.

EXPLAINATION:

As marked in the figure,

Let the point of starting journey be labelled as O

Then the 40 km journey towards north be labelled as OA

After turning right , the 50 km journey be labelled as AB

the 30 km journey after turning right be BC and 50 km journey after turning right be CD.

From the figure, it is clear that

OA=40 km

AB=50 km

BC=30 km

CD=50 km

AD=BC=30 km

As it is clearly visible that Raju's distance from starting point is OD,

OD= OA-AD

OD= 40-30= 10KM

Hence, the distance from starting point is 10km.
