☞ We need to first find out the area of the living room.

3.5 x 3.5 = 12.25 sq m.

☞ Now we can see that the carpet covers the whole room.

So the answer is 12.25 sq m

Answer:

one side of the room = 3.5m

since, the room is in the form of square

therefore, the area of room = (side)2 = (3.5)2 = 12.25 m.

Hence 12.25 metre carpet is required.
