Raju used 2 plastic bags and 1 paper bag in a day which cost him ₹ 35. While Ramesh used 3 plastic bags and 4 paper bags per day, which cost him ₹ 65 (i) Find the cost of each bag. (ii) Which bag has to be used and what value is reflected by using it.

SOLUTION:
i)Let the cost of 1 plastic bags be x and cost of 1 paper bag be y.
Condition 1:
2x+y = 35........(1)
Condition 2:
3x+4y = 65.....(2)
Multiply equation 1 by 4
8x + 4y = 140…………..(3)
On subtracting equation 3 from 2
3x+4y = 65
8x + 4y = 140
(-) (-) (-)

-5x = - 75
x = -75/ - 5
x = 15
On putting the value of x in eq 1.
2x+y = 35
2(15) + y = 35
30 + y = 35
y = 35 -30
y= 5
Hence, the cost of 1 plastic bag = ₹ 15 and the cost of 1 paper bag = ₹5.
ii) Paper bag has to be used. The values reflected is Eco friendly .
