Raju walks 80 ms towards south. Then, turns to his right & starts walking straight till he completes another 80 ms. Then, again turning to his left he walks for 60 metres. He then turns to his left & walks for 80 metres. How far is he from his initial position?

According to the given scenario, Raju is 140 metres far from his initial position.

Let us understand this with reference to the diagram provided below:-

The circle in the center depicts Raju. Now, Raju travels according to whatever is given the problem. His first stop is point B followed by A, then D and finally his destination is point C.  

As given in the figure, the distance from his initial point to to C would be:-

80m +  BC

BC = AD (Opposite sides of rectangle ABCD)

Therefore, BC = 60m

Hence, 80m + BC

          = 80m + 60m

          = 140m

This way Raju is 140m away from his initial point
