Rakesh bought two pairs of jeans for₹960 each . He sold one jeans at a profit of 10 % and the other at a loss of 12 % . Find his profit or loss percent on the whole transaction .

Solution

Prize of one of jeans=₹960

Profit of one pair of jeans=10%=₹96

Prize of second jeans =₹960

Loss of second jeans=12%=115.2

Total loss=115.2-96=19.2or 2%

Or

Other method

Total loss or profit= 12%-10%

=2%

Total loss =2%

Total loss=₹2%of960

= ₹2×960÷100

=₹19.2
