Given :  Rakesh distributed Rs.50000 into (x,y,z) 3 groups having 50 people in total. The number of people in group X is equal to number of people in group Z and the total money got by group Y is equal to the total money got by group Z. The average money got by group X and Y is Rs. 3500/3 and average money got by group Y and Z is Rs. 1000.

To find :  the number of people in group Y

Solution:

Total Money  = Rs 50000

Total People = 50

Let say people in Group X & Z  = P

People in Group Y = 50 - 2P

The average money got by group X and Y is Rs. 3500/3

Money got by Group X & Y  =  (P + 50 - 2P) (3500/3)

= (50 - P)3500/3

average money got by group Y and Z is Rs. 1000

Money got by Group Y & Z  =  (P + 50 - 2P) (1000)

= (50 - P)1000

total money got by group Y is equal to the total money got by group Z

Money Got by   Y = Z  =  (50 - P)1000/2

= (50 - P)500

Money got by Group X & Y + Money Got by  Z

(50 - P)3500/3 + (50 - P)500   = 50000

=> (50 - P)7/3 + (50 - P)   = 100

=> (50 -P)* 10  = 300

=> 50 -P = 30

=> P = 20

X = Z  = 20

Y = 10

number of people in group Y = 10
