Let the present age of son and father be x years and
y years respectively.
x = 1/2y. -------1
x - 10 = y – 10 – 20
y – x = 20. ------2
from equation 1 in equation 2
y – 1/2y = 20
y = 40 years
So, x = 1/2 ×40 = 20 years
So, age of father will be 40 years and age of son will be 20 years
y years respectively.
x = 1/2y. -------1
x - 10 = y – 10 – 20
y – x = 20. ------2
from equation 1 in equation 2
y – 1/2y = 20
y = 40 years
So, x = 1/2 ×40 = 20 years
So, age of father will be 40 years and age of son will be 20 years
