Given:

Rakesh is taller than Richa.

Rakesh is shorter than Prabhat.

Rakesh and Richa are shorter than Pranab.

Pranab is taller than Prabhat.

To find:

Ascending order of height.

Position of Richa.

Solution:

Let Rakesh be represented as k.

Let Richa be represented as i.

Let Pranab be represented as b.

Let Prabhat be represented as t.

Ascending order of height means we have to arrange these four friends from the shortest to the tallest. From the given information, Rakesh is taller than Richa and also shorter than Prabhat.

k>i and k<t

That means i<k<t.

Rakesh is shorter than Pranab. Richa is also shorter than Pranab.

k<b\\i<b

That means i<k<t<b.

Pranab is taller than Prabhat.

b>t

Hence, the ascending order of height is Richa<Rakesh<Prabhat<Pranab

where Richa is the shortest and Pranab is the tallest among all the four friends. Hence, Richa's position is first if all of them are sitting in the ascending order of their heights.

The ascending order of heights is Richa < Rakesh < Prabhat < Pranab. Richa is sitting in the first position when all of them are arranged in the ascending order.
